
Chennai, February 21 – On the occasion of the blockbuster film ‘Dragon’ completing one year, the film’s director, Ashwath Marimuthu, and the film’s lead actor, Pradeep Ranganathan, have both posted on social media, suggesting that a second part of the film is likely.
On Saturday, director Ashwath Marimuthu wrote on his X timeline, "1 year of Dragon! Great working with this self-made star, @pradeeponelife. When friends work together, the relationship is at stake! But that same stake pushes you to deliver. Keep growing, PR! Thanks to @Ags_production and my team. WE WILL COME BACK ‘2’nd TIME (winking smiley)."
The fact that Ashwath Marimuthu had highlighted the number 2 in his tweet excited fans. Pradeep Ranganathan's tweet further added to the excitement.
Pradeep Ranganathan wrote on his X timeline, "It took some time for me to transition from being a friend to the director. But now I have the best of both worlds with me. Coming soon:" and posted a picture of two dragons.
Earlier in the morning, actress Kayadu Lohar, who played the female lead in the film, posted pictures of herself on the film's sets on her Instagram page. She wrote, "Dragon turns 1 today! The journey where it all started. Thank you for giving me a place in your hearts and for welcoming me so graciously. Pallavi will always be special. Thank you and congratulations @ashwathmarimuthu @pradeepranganathan @archanakalpathi @agsentertainment."
The film was a huge success when it was released last year. It not only made a lot of money and emerged as a major blockbuster, but also garnered a lot of love and admiration from the audience for all the actors in the film.
'Dragon', which was already declared a success before its release due to its non-theatrical earnings, had a very strong opening, collecting 50 crores in just three days.
The film was produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh, with Pradeep Ranganathan playing the lead role alongside Anupama Parameswaran and Kayadu Lohar. The music was composed by Leon James, and the cinematography was by Niketh Bommi.
The editing was done by Pradeep E Ragav, and the stunts were choreographed by Vicky and Dilip Subbarayan. The story for the film was jointly written by Ashwath Marimuthu and Pradeep Ranganathan, while the dialogues and screenplay were written by Ashwath Marimuthu.
The film was co-directed by Ramesh Narayanan, and the costumes were designed by Dinesh Manoharan and Praveen Raja.
