
New Delhi, March 13 A car caught fire on the Outer Ring Road near the Kalkaji temple in south Delhi on Friday, with the driver escaping unharmed, according to a Delhi Fire Services official.
The incident occurred around 5 pm when the car was travelling from Kalkaji towards IIT Delhi, he said.
According to police, flames suddenly erupted from the vehicle while it was moving on the busy stretch near the temple. The driver, who was the only occupant in the car at the time, quickly noticed the smoke and managed to get out of the vehicle in time, avoiding any injuries.
Police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. A fire engine was also dispatched, and firefighters brought the blaze under control, the official said.
