
In Jammu and Kashmir, the daytime temperature was significantly above normal across the Union Territory yesterday, with most places in the Kashmir Valley recording a rise of 8 to 10 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average. Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg recorded temperatures 8 to 9 degrees above normal.
Banihal, Batote, Bhaderwah, and Katra recorded maximum temperatures 4 to 7 degrees above normal. The temperatures remained largely similar to the previous day, when most stations across Kashmir had recorded departures of up to 10 degrees above normal. The Meteorological Department has forecast generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir today. From tomorrow until Saturday, the weather department has predicted partly to generally cloudy skies with light rain or snow at isolated locations. March 1 is likely to remain generally dry.
The department has advised farmers to continue their agricultural operations and stated that a further rise of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in daytime temperatures is likely at most locations over the next two days.
