New Delhi, April 3 Two innovators from the Delhi Technological University have been awarded ₹15 lakh each under the 'MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0' in the category of stealth, surveillance, and cyber defense technologies, an official statement said.
The hackathon is a national-level innovation challenge organized by the Union Ministry of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), encouraging and funding innovative ideas and solutions from students, innovators, and entrepreneurs that have the potential to solve real-world problems.
Anshul Sharma, a startup founder at DTU's incubator, was recognized for his project titled "Flying Wing VTOL UAV System with 150 km Range and a Smart Automated Docking Station for 4-Drone Deployment with Auto-fueling, Charging, and AI-based Surveillance," the statement said.
The project aims to advance autonomous aerial systems and strengthen defense technologies, it said.
Chitwan Tejan, a student at the university, was also honored for his project "Drone Forensics", which focuses on the emerging challenges in drone security and forensic analysis, the statement said.
Congratulating the awardees, Vice Chancellor Prateek Sharma said the recognition reflected the spirit of innovation and research excellence at the university.
"This remarkable achievement reflects the spirit of innovation, research excellence, and technological leadership at DTU. I congratulate both the winners and their mentors for their dedication and impactful contributions in critical domains such as surveillance and cyber defense that contribute to national priorities," he said.
Acknowledging the role of its incubator team, mentors, and jury members, the university said their guidance and evaluation at the institute level played a significant part in the achievement.
