The Consulate General of India in Dubai has announced an extension of regular and e-Visas for Indian citizens, as well as the waiver of overstay penalties for foreign nationals stranded in India due to the ongoing situation in West Asia. In a social media post, the Consulate General stated that all types of visas and e-visas expiring or due for expiry soon would be extended for one month, free of charge, for affected nationals on a case-by-case basis.
It also stated that any overstay by affected foreign nationals after February 28th would be waived. The Consulate General further clarified that exit permits would be provided free of charge to affected foreign nationals, and that failure to apply for or extend visas by these nationals would not be considered a violation of migration laws. It also announced that temporary landing permits would be granted free of charge to foreign nationals arriving in India due to flight diversions.
