Jammu and Kashmir has launched 44 online transport-related services under the e-Transport Mission Mode Project, with the goal of improving efficiency and providing citizens with easy access to services. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that the Union Territory is offering 20 services under Vahan and 24 services under Sarathi, enabling citizens to access key transport facilities through digital platforms. This initiative focuses on providing faceless and contactless services, including vehicle registration, issuance of driving licenses, tax payments, and permit-related services, thereby reducing the need for visits to Regional Transport Offices (RTOs). By integrating advanced technologies such as Aadhaar-based authentication, e-KYC, digital signatures, and AI-based facial recognition, the system is expected to enhance transparency and streamline service delivery across Jammu and Kashmir. The move also aims to promote ease of living by ensuring better accessibility of transport services to citizens across the Union Territory.
