
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held a series of bilateral meetings with leaders from various countries on the sidelines of the 9th Indian Ocean Conference in Port Louis, Mauritius, today. Dr. Jaishankar met with Mauritius President, Dharambeer Gokhool. In a social media post, Dr. Jaishankar stated that their conversation reflected the warmth of friendship and the steadfast commitment to further advancing the partnership between the two nations.
Dr. Jaishankar also met with Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, the former Prime Minister of Mauritius and leader of the Militant Socialist Movement party. He commended Jugnauth's strong commitment to the India-Mauritius partnership.
The External Affairs Minister also met with Seychelles Foreign Minister, Barry Faure. Dr. Jaishankar stated that India is committed to supporting Seychelles in overcoming current economic challenges. He also welcomed the steps taken to implement the India-Seychelles Special Economic Package.
Furthermore, he also engaged in a conversation with Bhutan's Foreign Minister, DN Dhungyel. Dr. Jaishankar stated that the unique and time-tested India-Bhutan partnership is continuing to progress and prosper.
