
Barwani (MP), April 8 Mild tremors were felt in the Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday afternoon, causing panicked residents to rush out of their homes.
Officials said there are no immediate reports of casualties or property damage.
Senior scientist Vedprakash Singh Chandel from the Meteorological Department said the tremor struck the Barwani district at 12:48 PM and measured 3.6 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located 10 kilometers below the earth's surface.
"We have received reports of tremors lasting two minutes in some areas of the district. However, there are no reports of any casualties or property damage," said Sohan Kanas, the Additional District Magistrate of Barwani.
Lokendra Singh Tomar, a resident of Mohipura in the district, said villagers panicked after experiencing the tremors and rushed out of their houses.
