Kathmandu, April 1 A minor earthquake, measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale, struck the mountainous Mugu district of Nepal's Karnali province early Wednesday, officials said.

There were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties.

The quake occurred at 2:22 am, with its epicenter in Dhainakot, Mugu, according to the Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre.

Tremors were also felt in neighboring Humla, Jumla, and Kalikot districts.
