Earthquakes Strike Sikkim - No Injuries Reported.webp

Gangtok, March 20 Two consecutive earthquakes, one measuring 3.6 and the other 2.7 on the Richter scale, struck Gangtok, Sikkim, in the early hours of Friday, officials said.

The 3.6 magnitude earthquake occurred at 4:26 am, approximately 10.7 km northwest of Gangtok, at a shallow depth of 5 km. The second earthquake struck 11.2 km west of the city at a depth of 10 km, according to the National Centre for Seismology.

There were no reports of any injuries or property damage from any part of the Himalayan state, officials said.
