EC Orders Transfers of Senior Police Officers in West Bengal.webp

The Election Commission has ordered the transfer of 19 senior police officers in West Bengal today, effective immediately. The Commission has appointed Pushpa, an officer from the 2012 batch of IPS, as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Barasat Police District. Meanwhile, Ishani Paul, an officer from the 2013 batch of IPS, has been appointed as the SP of the Diamond Harbour Police District, and Sachin, also from the 2013 batch, has been made the SP of the Murshidabad Police District. The Commission has also appointed Jaspreet Singh as the SP of Coochbehar, and Kumar Sunny Raj, an officer from the 2017 batch of IPS, as the SP of Hooghly Rural. Dr Rajesh Kumar Singh, an officer from the 1997 batch of IPS, has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG) of South Bengal, while K. Jayaraman has been appointed as the ADG of North Bengal. The Commission has also posted Dr Pranav Kumar, an officer from the 2003 batch of IPS, as the Police Commissioner of Asansol-Durgapur, and Akhilesh Kumar Chaturvedi, an officer from the 2005 batch of IPS, as the Police Commissioner of Howrah. Amit Kumar Singh, an officer from the 2009 batch of IPS, has been posted as the Police Commissioner of Barrackpore, and Sunil Kumar Yadav, also from the same batch, has been appointed as the Police Commissioner of Chandannagar.

Earlier, the Commission had transferred four senior IPS officers, including the Director General of Police (DGP) of West Bengal, yesterday.
