
Today, the Election Commission conducted a comprehensive training program for all 294 Returning Officers in preparation for the upcoming West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections. The training was held simultaneously at divisional headquarters in Jalpaiguri, Malda, Presidency, Burdwan, and Medinipur. The program focused on strengthening preparedness to ensure the conduct of free, fair, and transparent elections. During the training, National-level Master Trainers and senior Commission officials briefed the Returning Officers on all critical aspects of election management, including the nomination process, scrutiny of nominations, provisions relating to qualifications and disqualifications, enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, withdrawal of candidature, symbol allotment, poll-day arrangements, and vote counting. The Commission emphasized the importance of transparency measures.
