
Shimla, March 20 The 133 Eco Task Force organized several programs across Himachal Pradesh on Friday to mark the International Day of Forests, focusing on raising awareness among local communities about the importance of forest conservation.
The task force held events in Kufri (Shimla district), as well as in Karsog and Tattapani and Aut (Mandi district).
Participants were also encouraged to adopt eco-friendly practices to protect natural resources for future generations.
The events were conducted in collaboration with local senior secondary schools, Mahila Mandals, and the Industrial Training Institute in Sunni. Students, teachers, and local residents joined unit officers, JCOs, and jawans in symbolic tree planting drives and awareness campaigns.
A spokesperson for the task force said these initiatives highlighted the role of forests in maintaining environmental balance and supporting sustainable development.
