Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated today that approximately 19 foreign universities are expected to establish campuses in India during the current academic year. Addressing the "Study in India Edu-Diplomatic Conclave 2026" in New Delhi, Mr. Pradhan said that Indian institutions are collaborating with global organizations in sectors such as semiconductors, AI, biotechnology, critical minerals, agriculture, and sustainable management.

The Education Minister welcomed students from foreign countries to study in India. He emphasized that India is focused on providing high-quality education, improving its ranking in global systems, and creating more economic opportunities for young people. Mr. Pradhan noted that the country's strength lies in its young population, with 65% of the population being in the age group of thirty-five.

He added that India wants to create a knowledge bridge between different countries and civilizations, and is also planning to develop a development model for the global south.
