
Imphal, March 20 The Chief Minister of Manipur, Y Khemchand Singh, has invited members of the Kuki Zo Council for a meeting to discuss steps to restore peace and normalcy in the state, which has been affected by ethnic conflict, officials said on Friday.
In a letter addressed to the chairman of the Kuki Zo Council, the chief minister's secretary conveyed Singh's request for a meeting with council members on Saturday in Guwahati to discuss issues related to restoring normalcy in the state.
"I am directed to refer to the above subject and convey the request of the Chief Minister of Manipur to have a meeting with you and other members of the Kuki Zo Council to discuss matters related to bringing back peace and normalcy in Manipur," the letter stated.
Whether the Kuki Zo Council would attend the meeting was yet to be confirmed, officials said.
