Khunti (Jharkhand), April 3 A 64-year-old woman was killed in her sleep, allegedly by a neighbor in the Khunti district of Jharkhand, leading to the arrest of the accused. Police said the incident occurred as a result of a dispute between the two over drinking liquor.
According to a police official, the victim, Bhabhi Devi, had opposed her neighbor, Vishwanath Munda (32), who had been abusing her while intoxicated.
Angered by her objections, Munda struck her on the head with an axe while she was sleeping in her house in the Burhadih village around 1 am on Thursday, the official said.
The accused has been arrested, and the axe has been recovered, police said.
