Today, the Election Commission held a review meeting for the central observers deployed across Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry in preparation for the upcoming state assembly elections. A total of 282 central observers, along with the Chief Electoral Officers of Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry, attended the briefing via video conferencing. During the meeting, the Commission instructed the observers to ensure that the elections are conducted in a festive and fair manner, free from any intimidation, violence, or inducement. The election authority also emphasized strict adherence to the model code of conduct and prompt action in response to any complaints of violations. The observers were also directed to ensure the availability of essential facilities at all polling stations, including a mobile phone deposit facility and seating arrangements for voters.
