BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said with the announcement of the poll schedule, the "reverse countdown" has begun for the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal.

"Bengal is all set to vote for 'Poriborton (change)'. Bengal is all set to vote for development. Bengal is all set to vote for BJP; Bengal is all set to vote for PM Narendra Modi. This election 2026; People of Bengal are fighting against 'Tolamool' Congress," Bhandari said in a post on X.
