March 25, New Delhi – The unprecedented crisis affecting global energy markets has forced countries around the world to take drastic steps to conserve fuel and keep their economies running.

In the Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared a state of national energy emergency on Tuesday in response to the conflict in West Asia.

He described the situation as an "imminent danger" to the country's energy supply.

Marcos also stated that a committee has been formed to ensure the smooth movement, supply, distribution, and availability of fuel, food, medicines, agricultural products, and other essential goods.
