Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, chaired a high-level meeting to review the arrangements for the upcoming Shree Machail Mata Yatra 2026.

During the meeting, a comprehensive review of preparations along the yatra route was undertaken, covering key aspects such as registration (online and offline), crowd management, accommodation, sanitation, power and drinking water supply, langar facilities, medical and emergency services, helicopter services, parking arrangements, and traffic regulation.

The Divisional Commissioner also discussed the possibility of introducing RFID card facilities for pilgrims, similar to the Shri Amarnath Yatra, to enhance safety and monitoring.

Emphasizing robust healthcare arrangements, he directed the deployment of dedicated officers at government accommodations and ensured round-the-clock availability of doctors, paramedics, ambulances, medicines, and medical equipment along the route.

He stressed the need for a well-planned crowd management strategy, regulated vehicle movement, and the identification of designated parking areas. Instructions were also issued to strengthen mobile connectivity, especially in areas with poor network coverage, and to install adequate signage and safety guidelines for pilgrims.

The Divisional Commissioner further called for timely dissemination of weather updates and the identification of landslide-prone stretches, along with the provision of backup generator sets.

Reviewing ongoing development works at Machail Mata Temple and along the route, including Yatri Niwas, dormitories, and resting sheds, he directed concerned departments to ensure their completion well before the commencement of the yatra.

He also instructed the district administration to prepare a comprehensive emergency response plan and conduct mock drills in coordination with the police and allied departments to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage.
