
March 28, New Delhi – Tensions in West Asia continued to escalate on Saturday, a month into the ongoing conflict, with Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi group entering the war.
The Houthis claimed responsibility for launching a barrage of ballistic missiles targeting military sites in southern Israel.
Iran also carried out missile strikes near Beit Shemesh, with explosions reported over Hizma in the West Bank. Israeli emergency services confirmed casualties at the Beit Shemesh site, where the injured received medical treatment.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the 84th wave of "Operation True Promise 4," targeting multiple locations, including a U.S. military base in Saudi Arabia.
In the UAE, debris from an intercepted missile sparked three fires near Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi, injuring six people. Meanwhile, a drone attack caused significant damage to radar systems at Kuwait International Airport.
Iranian military sources stated that a U.S. logistics vessel near Oman's Salalah port was also targeted.
In response, U.S. and Israeli forces reportedly struck a residential building in Shahr-e Rey, south of Tehran, killing 10 people.
In Lebanon, an Israeli airstrike destroyed a house in the southern town of Saksakiyeh. In a separate incident, three journalists were killed when their vehicle was hit in southern Lebanon.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said American military operations against Iran are expected to conclude within "weeks, not months."
Diplomatic efforts are ongoing, with a quadrilateral meeting involving foreign ministers from Türkiye, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia being convened.
