
New Delhi, April 11 The following are the key points of the Draft Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2026-2030:
- 100 per cent road tax and registration fee exemption for electric vehicles with a cost less than Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) until 2030.
- Electric cars with a cost less than Rs 30 lakh will receive full exemption until March 31, 2030.
- Strong hybrids will receive a 50 per cent exemption in fees and taxes.
- Only electric three-wheelers will be registered from January 1, 2027.
- Only electric two-wheelers will be registered from April 1, 2028.
- No new petrol/diesel vehicles will be allowed in delivery fleets. All new government vehicles will be electric.
- 30 per cent of school buses will be electric by 2030.
- All new government buses will be electric.
- Delhi Transco Limited will lead the expansion of public charging and battery swapping stations.
- A single-window clearance system will be implemented for faster setup.
