The Governor of Punjab and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, has approved a 20% horizontal reservation for ex-Agneevs in direct recruitment to the post of Jail Warden (Group C) in the Prisons Department of Chandigarh. This approval was given in accordance with a letter from Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. However, the recruitment will be conducted in accordance with the applicable rules.
Furthermore, a 20% horizontal reservation will also be provided against eligible positions in the Chandigarh Fire Services and Forest department. Mr. Kataria had also previously approved a 20% horizontal reservation for ex-Agneevs in direct recruitment to the post of Constable (Executive and Wireless) in the Chandigarh Police, including positions in the IRB.
