
Former servicemen are prepared to serve the nation with dedication if any war-like situation arises, said Gian Singh Pathania.
Referring to the ongoing tensions in West Asia, he stated that the situation involving the United States and several Arab nations could also affect Jammu and Kashmir, and the country should remain prepared. He added that many veterans have experience from the 1965 and 1971 wars and are capable of handling such situations. A list of approximately 150 former servicemen ready to serve in any emergency has been prepared and submitted to the Sainik Welfare Office and the Army Brigade.
Meanwhile, Association President Manohar Singh said a General Body meeting was held to discuss the West Asia conflict, a memorandum to the Chairman of the 8th Pay Commission regarding the removal of pay anomalies and issues related to One Rank One Pension (OROP). Preparations for the association's general elections, scheduled for March 29, were also discussed.
