The annual Class 10 examinations conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education began today for the summer zone of the Jammu division, with elaborate arrangements made across the Udhampur district.
A total of 73 examination centers have been established under strict security measures. According to official notification, 36 centers have been set up in Udhampur, 10 in Majalta, and 27 in Ramnagar. The district administration has issued special instructions to school managements and police authorities to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations.
In a gesture of goodwill, the Board has created a special examination center – 57-A – for a differently-abled girl student who is unable to walk due to illness. The separate facility has been arranged to allow her to take the examination without any inconvenience.
Authorities have also imposed restrictions on crowding around all examination centers to maintain discipline and order. As many as 3,414 students are appearing for the examinations in the Udhampur block alone.
Officials said that all necessary preparations have been completed and essential facilities have been provided at the centers to ensure a comfortable environment for the candidates.
Students expressed confidence and enthusiasm on the first day of the examinations. They acknowledged that their studies were partially affected due to the heavy rainfall and flood-like situation in 2025, but welcomed the government's decision to reduce the syllabus by 15 percent. They said that this move would help improve their performance and ease academic pressure.
