Expanding Childcare: Odisha Inaugurates New Centres.webp

Bhubaneswar, April 2 Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida virtually inaugurated 1,889 anganwadi centres (AWCs) across 30 districts on Thursday.

Parida, who is also in charge of the Women & Child Development, Mission Shakti, and Tourism departments, said this is a significant step towards strengthening grassroots childcare infrastructure in the state.

Anganwadi centres play a major role in improving the health and nutrition of pregnant women and children, Parida said.

"The aim is to establish 'sundar' (beautiful), 'sakhyam' (efficient), and 'sudrudha' (strong) anganwadi centres across the state," she said.

On the occasion, Parida also interacted with district officials of Balasore, Ganjam, Cuttack, Angul, and Deogarh, and reviewed the progress of the anganwadi centre buildings.
