Exploring Inner States: Exhibition Showcases Bharat Thakur's Visual Art.webp

New Delhi, April 10 An upcoming exhibition, "Before The Silence," will open at The Stainless Gallery in New Delhi on April 11, showcasing the work of yoga guru Bharat Thakur, shaped by decades of lived experience, observation, and disciplined practice.

Scheduled to be on public display from April 12 to April 20, the solo show brings together paintings, sculptures, and furniture designs drawn from four series developed over the past five years.

Thakur, the founder of Artistic Yoga and a self-taught visual artist, approaches art as an extension of an internal process rather than a separate creative pursuit.

"Art is not something I set out to create. It emerges as a result of a certain state of clarity. When that happens, form follows naturally," Thakur said.

Reflecting on the exhibition, he explained, "Silence is not empty. It is a state where everything becomes more defined. These works come from just before that point."

According to art specialist Yamini Telkar, whose essay accompanies the exhibition, the works function as "a continuous record of an interior life," bringing together layered experiences within a single viewing moment.

Set against the backdrop of an increasingly fast-paced contemporary environment, the exhibition encourages viewers to engage slowly and introspectively, allowing meaning to unfold through observation.

"Before The Silence" marks Thakur's seventh solo exhibition, following his previous show in Dubai in 2020. His practice, which spans painting and sculpture, draws from yoga, philosophy, and embodied experience, translating inner states into visual form.
