
Jorhat, March 28 Two people, including a minor, were killed and two others were critically injured in an explosion in the Jorhat district of Assam on Saturday, police said.
The explosion occurred at the rented house of a scrap dealer in Rajamaidam New Colony of the town, killing two people on the spot, Jorhat Senior Superintendent of Police Shubrajit Borah said.
The injured were admitted to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, and a forensic team has reached the scene to collect evidence, the SSP said.
Six people have been taken into custody for questioning, and investigations are ongoing, he added.
The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Noor Mohammad and eight-year-old Naina Begum.
