Fact-Finding Committee Established in Jharkhand Teacher Exam Case.webp

Ranchi, April 7 The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday appointed retired Justice Gautam Kumar Chaudhary as the chairman of the fact-finding committee set up to investigate alleged irregularities in the 2016 Graduate Trained Teachers Combined Competitive Examinations, conducted by the state staff selection commission.

In a ruling based on a petition filed by Meena Kumari and others, Justice Deepak Roshan directed the government to provide all necessary logistics and infrastructure to former HC Justice Chaudhary to enable him to conduct the proceedings of the fact-finding committee.

The court further observed that the committee should analyze all aspects of the matter and submit its report within three months.

Earlier, former Justice SN Pathak was appointed as the chairman of the committee, but he declined the appointment.

The petitioners alleged serious discrepancies in the preparation of the merit list, claiming that candidates scoring above the cutoff marks were not selected, while those with lower marks were appointed. Meena Kumari, one of the petitioners, said she was denied appointment despite securing marks above the cutoff.
