Nagpur, March 14 Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Saturday that there is no shortage of domestic LPG, petrol, and diesel, and accused the Congress of deliberately creating panic with false claims of supply disruptions.
Fadnavis was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony of Waaree Energies Limited’s Rs 6,200-crore "integrated 10 GW solar ingot and wafer manufacturing facility" in Nagpur.
The chief minister said that Nagpur is emerging as an important city with regard to solar modules. "This is the only such facility outside of China," he said.
Asked about the safe passage of two Indian-flagged vessels carrying LPG from Gulf countries through the war-hit Strait of Hormuz on Saturday morning, Fadnavis said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi always responds to those who doubt his leadership through his work.
"A prominent US leader has said that if anyone can bring different nations together, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When such a senior American politician says this about him, the talkative leaders of our country should take the cue and stop defaming India," he said.
On claims of an LPG shortage, Fadnavis said it was not due to distribution problems but to panic created by Congress leaders. "The Congress party has purposely done this," he said.
The CM said that the Centre and officials concerned have repeatedly clarified that there is no shortage of domestic LPG, petrol, and diesel. "Similarly, there is no rationing either. It is a conspiracy to instigate people and make them stand in queues," he said.
