
New Delhi, March 20 The Delhi Traffic Police have booked a man after he was found to be in possession of a fake "No Entry Permit" during a routine check in the Timarpur area of north Delhi, an official said on Friday.
A case of cheating and forgery has been registered against the driver, Rohit, 27, a resident of Faridabad in Haryana, after he failed to produce any valid permission for his vehicle, the officer said.
On Wednesday evening, around 6:20 pm, the police intercepted his light goods vehicle on the Burari-ISBT carriageway for violating "No Entry" restrictions, he said.
During the inspection, the "No Entry Permit" (NEP) on the vehicle's windscreen was found to be forged. Verification through the online challan system also confirmed that no valid permit had been issued for the vehicle, police said.
During questioning, Rohit told police that he had obtained the fake permit from a person in Nihal Vihar for Rs 2,000, officials said.
He added that the vehicle, along with the fake permit, has been handed over to the local police for further investigation.
