Latehar, April 4 A man allegedly stabbed his 22-year-old son to death in Latehar district, Jharkhand, police said on Saturday.

The incident occurred around 10 pm on Friday in the Uchhwabal village, located in the Manika police station area, they said.

"Bineshwar Parahiya (55) killed his son, Sitaram, by stabbing him with a knife due to a family dispute. The accused was under the influence of alcohol. The knife has been recovered," said Prabhat Kumar, the officer-in-charge of the Manika police station.

"The body of the victim has been sent for post-mortem examination," he said.

Meanwhile, a villager said the altercation started over collecting bamboo items and quickly escalated into a physical fight.

In a fit of rage, Bineshwar attacked his son with a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot, he said.
