Family Receives Appointment Letter Following Police Station Blast.webp

Srinagar, March 15 Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over a letter of appointment to the wife of a Crime Branch photographer who was killed in a police station blast last year, on compassionate grounds.

According to an official spokesperson, the letter was given to Shabeena Bashir, the widow of deceased constable Javid Mansoor Rather of the Crime Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, who was martyred in the accidental blast at Nowgam.

Sinha assured the bereaved family of all possible assistance and support from the administration, the spokesperson added.

Rather was among the nine people killed in the blast, which occurred due to a large cache of explosives kept at the Nowgam police station in November last year.

The explosives were seized from Faridabad as part of a crackdown on white-collar terror, during which several doctors were arrested.
