
Guna (MP), Apr 4 A 54-year-old woman was killed and five members of her family, including a child, were injured on Saturday when their car collided with a barrier and fell into a 40-foot deep ditch on the Guna bypass road, police said.
The family members, originally from Uttar Pradesh, were travelling from Ujjain to Lucknow after a pilgrimage when the incident occurred around 7 AM, according to Anoop Bhargava, in-charge of the Cantonment police station.
While Anita Agarwal was killed instantly, five others were seriously injured. All the injured are currently receiving treatment at the Guna District Hospital, he said.
The Agarwal family, residents of Bachhrawan in Raebareli district, Uttar Pradesh, had come to Ujjain to visit the Mahakal and Omkareshwar temples.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police and local residents rushed the injured to the district hospital.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
