Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, JP Nadda, has assured the House that a thorough investigation will be conducted to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the alleged attack on former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah. Responding to the issue raised by the Leader of the Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge, Mr. Nadda stated that the government is taking the matter very seriously and has assured the House that a detailed inquiry will be conducted. He emphasized that this is a matter of grave concern, and the government is committed to ensuring a thorough investigation. He further added that the central government remains committed to protecting the life and security of every citizen, including senior political leaders.

Assuring the House about the safety of Mr. Abdullah, Mr. Nadda stated that the government will take all necessary measures to ensure his protection. However, the Union Minister also criticized the opposition for giving the incident a political color. He said drawing conclusions without evidence and accusing the government of having intentions against Mr. Abdullah's life is inappropriate. Referring to remarks made by opposition leaders, Mr. Nadda rejected the allegations and said such claims reflected the mindset of the opposition. Mr. Nadda further reiterated that the government is serious about the matter and that a fair and comprehensive investigation will be carried out. During the Zero Hour, the leader of the opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge, raised concerns over law and order in J&K after the assassination attempt on Farooq Abdullah. In the House, National Conference MP Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan, also alleged that there was no police protection for Farooq Abdulla at the time of the attack.
