FCRA Bill Criticized: CM Alleges Targeting of Christian Groups.webp

Nagercoil (Tamil Nadu), April 4 Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Saturday described the Centre's proposed FCRA Amendment Bill 2026 as "draconian," and alleged that it targeted minorities, particularly Christian organizations, and demanded that it be withdrawn.

Addressing a rally here, Stalin alleged that the BJP-led Centre has failed to protect Tamil Nadu fishermen and has also failed in its foreign policy.

Furthermore, the leader of the Dravidian party alleged that Prime Minister Modi has created a situation where India has no influence, even among smaller neighboring countries.

The FCRA Amendment Bill is tantamount to taking away rights provided by the Constitution, and it is a serious assault on the freedom of religion, as well as on those who wish to engage in social service, he said.
