Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma met Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju in Delhi on Wednesday to express concerns about the proposed FCRA Amendment Bill, particularly the provisions regarding asset vesting and registration renewal. Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong and a number of Christian leaders, Sangma stated that he voiced these concerns on behalf of Christian organizations and urged broader consultations with all stakeholders. He added that the Minister responded positively and expressed hope that safeguards for Christian institutions would be ensured before the Bill is passed.
