Ferozepur Court Receives Bomb Threat – Hoax Confirmed.webp

Ferozepur (Punjab), April 6 The district court complex here received a bomb threat via email on Monday, which was later proven to be a hoax, officials said.

The threat message, received at the court's official email ID in the morning, warned that an explosive material had been planted in the court complex.

Following the information, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and other police teams promptly arrived at the premises and evacuated the court complex as a precautionary measure.

Senior officials, including Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Dharamvir Singh and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sukhwinder Singh, also reached the spot and assessed the situation.

However, even after a thorough inspection of the premises, nothing suspicious was found, officials said.

Recalling the tense moments, Bar Council president Advocate Lovjeetpal Singh Turna said he came to know about the threat email in the morning.

"I immediately appealed to all the advocates and clerks working in the premises to vacate the area and help the police conduct a thorough check," Turna said.

The Ferozepur district court had received a similar bomb threat on January 8 this year. That too had turned out to be a hoax.
