Mumbai, April 10 A man was arrested on Friday for allegedly abusing Babasaheb Ambedkar during a fight in the Dharavi area of Mumbai, a police official said.
The official at the Dharavi police station identified the accused as Prem Sagar Amarnath Sahani (33).
"The incident took place in the Kumbharwada area. During a fight with Ravishankar Jaiswar (33), Sahani used caste-based abusive language and made objectionable remarks about Babasaheb Ambedkar," he said.
Sahani has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, based on a complaint filed by Jaiswar, the official said.
