Mumbai, March 10 – National Award-winning filmmaker Prakash Jha has reflected on the current political landscape worldwide, marked by ongoing wars in West Asia and Eastern Europe.
Speaking to IANS, Jha said, "It's a fascinating time. People are electing leaders from a different era, with different ideologies and approaches. It's interesting for me to have grown and witnessed the changes in the world, and to try and understand the underlying mechanisms."
He further elaborated on his role as an artist in this political climate, stating, "My responsibility is to take the events happening around the world and present them in the form of stories, and share them with people. That's the essence of it. And I find it fulfilling. I also believe that we all have to adapt to the changing times. So, I feel happy or sad, depending on my perspective."
"When I see compassion and humanity, it restores my faith. But when I see destruction, death, and disasters, I experience grief. However, that's also a part of life, and we have to understand that there's little we can do except to try and understand the reasons behind these events. So, that's my effort. But I am committed to society and to living honestly," he added.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Jha is directing the upcoming series "Sankalp," produced by his daughter, Disha Jha. The series will soon be available on OTT platforms.
