
Today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met with the President of the New Development Bank (NDB), Dilma Rousseff, in New Delhi. During the meeting, both sides discussed the deeper collaboration between India's private sector and the NDB to mobilize private capital and the bank's need to grow and develop while remaining competitive. Ms. Sitharaman stated that, by leveraging global best practices, expertise, and technology, multilateral development banks can deliver innovative solutions not only in hard infrastructure but also in urban development and planning.
On the occasion, Ms. Rousseff commended India's vision of "Viksit Bharat" as a cornerstone for emerging economies. She emphasized that the New Development Bank is keen to support this vision and showcase India's successful initiatives in areas such as transportation system integration and healthcare.
