In a compassionate initiative to support families affected by road accidents, Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma distributed financial assistance amounting to Rs 5 lakh under the Jammu and Kashmir Road Accident Victim Fund in Kishtwar on Thursday.
The assistance was provided based on applications submitted by ARTO Kishtwar, Tasleem Wani. Under the scheme, Rs 1 lakh each was given to the legal heirs of five individuals who died in separate road accidents.
The beneficiaries included Shivani Devi, daughter of the late Bansi Lal, from Bhagna Gujjar Basti, Nagseni; Nowsheena Begum, wife of the late Masood Ahmed, from Palmar; Dolat Ram, son of Prem Nath, from Tagood; Anju Bala, wife of the late Jarman Singh, from village Neera Rahalthal; and Kajal Devi, wife of Suman Kumar, from Bhatna Nagar, Dharbadan Thakrie.
This initiative reflects the government's commitment to provide timely financial assistance and offer support to families facing distress due to tragic road accidents.
