MEA Secretary (West), Sibi George, stated that Finland's advanced capabilities in digital innovation align well with India's digital transformation initiatives. Speaking to the media in New Delhi today, he said that the two sides have established a joint working group with cross-sectoral representation to promote cooperation in new and emerging technologies such as 5G and 6G, quantum communications, high-performance and quantum computing, and artificial intelligence.
Mr. George also mentioned that the two sides have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a migration and mobility partnership. He stated that this is expected to facilitate the movement of talent, including professionals, students, entrepreneurs, researchers, and academics. He expressed the hope that Finland will provide enhanced access for Indian students, including internship and post-study employment opportunities.
