
Palghar, March 29 A worker was injured after a fire broke out in a mattress foam manufacturing factory in Palghar district, Maharashtra, on Sunday, police said.
The fire erupted around 5:30 am and quickly spread across the premises in the Wada area, where large quantities of foam were stored, they said.
The flames were visible from a considerable distance, and thick smoke engulfed the surrounding area.
A worker suffered burn injuries and was admitted to a local hospital for treatment, according to Datta Kindre, inspector of the Wada police station.
Two fire engines rushed to the spot and managed to extinguish the flames in about two hours. Cooling operations are currently underway, he said.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
