
Thane, March 19 A fire broke out in a cluster of furniture warehouses in the Thane district of Maharashtra on Thursday, causing damage to three to four units, officials said.
No one was injured in the blaze, which erupted around 11:30 am at the Chamunda Complex in the Kasheli area, according to fire officer Nitin Chavan from the Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation.
Fire tenders from Bhiwandi, Thane, and Kalyan were dispatched to the scene, and operations to control the fire are underway, he said.
"Firefighters are having difficulty containing the flames due to the highly flammable furniture material stored on the premises," Chavan said.
Three to four furniture warehouses have been completely destroyed, he added, noting that the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
