Aizawl, April 5, 2026: Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), inaugurated the second edition of the 2026 PNB Soldierathon, organized by Punjab National Bank and the Indian Armed Forces to commemorate the bank's 132nd Foundation Day.

The event, themed "Run For Soldiers," was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi to honor the heroes of Operation Sindoor and promote physical well-being under the Fit India Campaign. Over 27,000 people participated.

Speaking at the event, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh warmly praised the Soldierathon, jointly organized by Punjab National Bank and the Indian Armed Forces, for promoting the vital importance of physical fitness and good health. He highlighted that the Soldierathon was launched under the Fit India Campaign. Through this inspiring initiative, the public is being educated about the need to build a strong and healthy body. He added that if this powerful message is spread far and wide, the entire society will reap the benefits.

The marathon featured three race categories – a 21.1 km Half Marathon, a 10 km Run, and a 5 km Run – with a total prize pool of ₹19.5 lakh. The event aimed to honor soldiers while encouraging fitness across all levels.
