Noida (UP), March 27 A five-tier security ring has been established, and approximately 5,000 security personnel have been deployed for the inauguration of the Noida International Airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, officials said.
According to a statement issued by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police on Friday, the entire area has been secured under a multi-layered security architecture in coordination with the Special Protection Group (SPG).
Strict access control measures have been implemented at all entry points, including frisking, baggage screening, and identity verification, the police said, adding that anti-sabotage checks, bomb disposal squad (BDDS) sweeps, and anti-mine inspections have been carried out.
Invitations to the event, issued on Friday, specified that wearing black clothing and live streaming of the program are prohibited.
The police said that a comprehensive deployment of forces, including the PAC, RAF, ATS, and CISF, has been ensured at strategic locations, supported by Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs).
Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) have been installed at multiple points, with separate enclosures arranged for women to ensure safety and convenience.
Anti-drone teams have been deployed, and the area has been declared a "red zone," with a strict ban on drone operations. Continuous monitoring of social media is also being carried out to track rumors and potential threats, officials said.
A control room has been set up for CCTV surveillance, while police help desks have been established at various locations for public assistance.
Emergency response arrangements have been strengthened through coordination between NDRF and SDRF teams. Fire tenders have been kept on standby, and evacuation routes and assembly points have been clearly marked, with mock drills conducted in advance.
Adequate medical facilities, including medical desks, ambulances, and dedicated ambulance corridors, have also been arranged.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, a detailed diversion plan supported by real-time monitoring has been implemented. Parking arrangements for nearly 20,000 vehicles, including buses, cars, and two-wheelers, have been made at 15 designated sites.
Officials informed that a dedicated wireless network and encrypted communication system are being used for seamless coordination among agencies. Sniffer dogs and dog squads have also been deployed, while BDDS teams remain on continuous alert.
Authorities have also planned phased crowd dispersal after the event, along with a traffic clearance strategy.
Background verification of vendors, staff, and volunteers has been carried out as part of preventive measures, while an integrated command and control system has been set up for real-time monitoring.
Given the proximity of the venue to the Yamuna River, arrangements for riverine patrolling have also been made, officials added.
