Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has suggested including the state's border blocks under the "Aspirational Districts" and "Aspirational Blocks" programs. He stated that these blocks require a strong framework to ensure they are not left behind in the nation's development journey.
He was presiding over the "Sampooranta Abhiyaan Samman Samaroh," an event organized to recognize the outstanding achievements of districts and blocks under the NITI Aayog's "Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks" programs (ABP) in Chandigarh, yesterday. The Governor said that the government can use targeted transformation and convergence-based action to fill the gap left by previous funding structures by integrating these border area blocks into the Aspirational framework. He stated that true development is not measured by rapid progress, but by the upliftment of the weaker sections of society.
