New Delhi, March 1 Senior Supreme Court lawyer and former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader H S Phoolka joined the BJP on Wednesday.
Phoolka, who is best known for representing the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in their pursuit of justice, joined AAP in 2014 and left it five years later in 2019.
Phoolka contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as an AAP candidate from Ludhiana in Punjab but lost to Congress' Ravneet Singh Bittu, who is now a BJP leader and a Union minister.
In 2017, he won the Dhaka assembly seat in Punjab.
Phoolka was the leader of the opposition in the Punjab assembly for about three months in 2017. He then resigned from the post to pursue the cases related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in the Delhi High Court.
