New Delhi, March 1 Senior Supreme Court lawyer and former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader H S Phoolka is set to join the BJP on Wednesday, sources said.
Phoolka, who is best known for representing the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in their quest for justice, joined AAP in 2014 and left it five years later in 2019.
"He will join the BJP here in the presence of senior party leaders," a source in the party said.
Phoolka contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as an AAP candidate from Ludhiana in Punjab but lost to Congress' Ravneet Singh Bittu, now a BJP leader and a Union minister.
In 2017, he won the Dhaka assembly seat in Punjab.
Phoolka was the leader of the opposition in the Punjab assembly for about three months in 2017. He then resigned from the post to fight the cases related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in the Delhi High Court.
